Michael Huey, MD, FACHA, has been a member of the ACHF Board of Directors since 2019 and became Board Chair in 2024. He is an ACHA Past President, ACHA Fellow, ACHA College Health and Wellness Consultant, and the recipient of the 2019 ACHA Lifetime Achievement Award. For 9 months in 2020-21, Michael served as Interim ACHA CEO.

Michael is the former Assistant Vice President and Executive Director of Emory University Student Health Services and Associate Professor of Family and Preventive Medicine at the Emory School of Medicine. He was Emory Head Team Physician for 16 years, and in 2023 was inducted into the Emory University Athletics Hall of Fame. Michael has been a surveyor for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) since 2005. In 2014-15, he was an Ebola Clinical Consultant with CDC National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) and he deployed with the CDC Sierra Leone Ebola response as an infection prevention specialist in Summer 2015.

Michael and his wife of 47 years, Fontaine (former CEO of the Georgia Center for the Visually Impaired), are retired and live in Florida. They have two sons, Scott and Christopher, and an enthusiastic rescue pup, Louis (rhymes with Huey).
