This toolkit assists colleges and universities in providing sexual health services based on ACHA’s best practices, aiming to create student-centered, accessible, and inclusive campus environments.
This Sexual Health Services Implementation Guide offers a comprehensive framework for colleges and universities to assess and develop their sexual health services program. Based on the ACHA Guidelines for Best Practices in Sexual Health Promotion and Clinical Care, the guide provides actionable steps to foster a sexual-health-promoting campus environment. It emphasizes the importance of health equity, addressing systemic inequities such as racism, cissexism, and heterosexism. The guide outlines a five-step process: familiarization with ACHA’s best practices, forming a sexual health work group, completing an organizational assessment, analyzing results to plan, and maintaining organizational focus.
This step-by-step guide includes a color-coded system identifying tasks for health promotion and clinical care and other items that are shared responsibilities. The toolkit empowers campuses to determine their own areas of strength and weakness and can be used to create and advocate for a sexual health-promoting campus environment that is student-centered, accessible, and inclusive.
