These guidelines consolidate sexual health resources from ACHA and other national organizations to assist campuses in the provision of sexual health services.
According to The World Health Organization’s (WHO) working definition, “sexual health” is “a state of physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being in relation to sexuality; it is not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or infirmity. For sexual health to be attained and maintained, the sexual rights of all persons must be respected, protected, and fulfilled.”
ACHA has published several guidelines and position statements available regarding sexual health issues. The intent of this paper is to consolidate this information with guidelines and best practices to assist colleges and universities in the provision of sexual health services, both in health promotion and clinical care, and specifically through the lenses of public health and medicine.
