Digital Health & Wellness: Navigating Challenges and Shaping Solutions in College Health

The annual NCCHA conference draws health and well-being professionals from institutions of higher education across the North Central region of the United States (Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin). NCCHA strives to support its members with networking and educational opportunities, promote college health services, and influence action on health issues.

Attendees represent all areas of college health: medical providers, nurses, health promotion staff, registered dietitians, social workers, counselors, directors, and administrative staff.

At NCCHA 2025, Participants will explore the risks and benefits of the use of digital platforms by the college students we serve and those posed by the incorporation of digital tools in our delivery of health care.

Conference Objectives

At the conclusion of this meeting, learners should be able to:

  1. Identify key challenges that colleges and universities face when adopting digital health solutions, such as privacy concerns, accessibility issues, equity in access, and the integration of digital tools into existing campus health infrastructure.
  2. Foster collaboration between college health professionals, IT experts, mental health counselors, and wellness coordinators to develop comprehensive, innovative solutions that address the physical, mental, and emotional health of students.
  3. Address the ethical and legal implications of using digital health solutions in college settings, including confidentiality, data security, and informed consent.
  4. Examine the role of digital health tools in promoting mental health, with a focus on preventing burnout, managing stress, and fostering resilience among students.
  5. Facilitate networking opportunities among college health professionals to exchange ideas, resources, and best practices in digital health and wellness.
