Tondra L. Moore, PhD, JD, MPH, is the Executive Director of Health Services and a Clinical Associate Professor at Prairie View A&M University. She provides executive oversight for the comprehensive health and well-being operations and initiatives across three campus locations, while also teaching in the public health program. Dr. Moore brings over 25 years of experience as a health services researcher, academic, and higher education leader, with an extensive scholarly record. Her leadership accomplishments include spearheading an effort to bolster HBCU profiles in health and well-being, launching academic programs, creating an emergency resource center, leading campus-wide mental health initiatives, guiding the university’s COVID-19 response, and overseeing a $4.2 million renovation of the student health clinic.
Dr. Moore’s service includes the Board of Directors for the American College Health Association, Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show Black Heritage Committee, and Prairie View Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Dr. Moore was recently honored as the recipient of the 2026 Student Affairs Assessment Leaders Award for Exemplary Work at Minority Serving Institutions, 2026 NASPA Outstanding HBCU/Minority-Serving Institution Professional – Region III & Wellness and Health Promotion Knowledge Community Outstanding Professional Award. As a graduate of Alabama State University, she attributes her success to the solid academic and career preparation provided by graduates of HBCUs and champions of excellence.
