Samantha Wahlers

ACHF Student Travel Funding Opportunity

Samantha Wahlers received a Bachelor of Science from Saint Louis University, on the pre-medical track. She currently attends the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where she is a second-year medical student. Experiencing the rigors of the curriculum firsthand, Samantha’s passion for prioritizing mental well-being has blossomed. Future practitioners are taught extensively about how to deliver high quality care to patients in hopes of bettering the quality of their lives, but Samantha believes it is critical that future practitioners also gather tools on how to show this same compassion and grace towards themselves. This notion has inspired Samantha’s desire to actively be part of discussions regarding bettering well-being, in all facets, as well as helping to imagine innovative processes for enhancing the accessibility of mental health resources.
