“PantrySoft Implementation and Healthy Alternative Meal Cards at the Brandeis Food Pantry”

Food insecurity is a leading public health issue in the United States and can negatively impact college students’ health, academic success, and overall well-being. The objective of this project is to significantly impact food insecurity on campus by enhancing pantry efficiency and by providing pantry users nutritional education through recipe cards that include pantry-provided items. PantrySoft™ is a software platform specifically designed for food pantries that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the university pantry. In addition to providing several features designed to protect student privacy and make registering for services easier, the software offers efficiencies to the staff and volunteers who manage the pantry’s operations.
