Joel (he/him) is the Executive Director of student health services at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. He holds a Doctor of PA Studies from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University, a Master of PA Studies from the University of Nebraska, and a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services at Creighton University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of PAs. He has formerly served students as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Health and Wellbeing at Washington State University and as Associate Executive Director of the Colorado State University Health Network. Before his time in college health, he worked in emergency and urgent care medicine as a PA and a paramedic, including service as an officer in the Army National Guard. His prior experience in the AHCA includes elected positions as a member of the Administration Section and as President of the Rocky Mountain College Health Association. He loves working with students and is passionate about improving health equity and access to services for all students.
