ACHA FELLOW
Dr. Giang Nguyen is the Associate Provost for Campus Health and Well-Being, the Executive Director of Harvard University Health Services (HUHS), and the Henry K. Oliver Chair of Hygiene at Harvard University. HUHS is Harvard University’s health care resource for all students and thousands of employees. Dr. Nguyen provides strategic vision and oversight for HUHS’s clinical and wellness services, public health initiatives, emergency preparedness, compliance and accreditation, health insurance plans, and immunization compliance programs. As associate provost, he plays a key role in promoting the health and well-being of the University’s diverse community across all of Harvard’s Schools and Units. He holds faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School and the Faculty of Arts & Sciences.
Previously, Giang served as the executive director of the University of Pennsylvania Student Health Service, the health center for the Penn’s 24,000 students. Trained in primary care medicine, public health, and clinical epidemiology, Dr. Nguyen holds degrees from the Johns Hopkins University, Rutgers/UMDNJ, and the University of Pennsylvania.
He has served on numerous boards and advisory committees regionally and nationally, including the ACHA Board of Directors and COVID-19 Task Force. He currently serves as chair of the ACHA Data Hub Committee.
