ACHF Student Travel Award

Aderinola (Derin) Adunbi is a second-year MPH student in health behavior and health education. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan, where she developed an interest in mental health, specifically global mental health. Throughout her academic career, she has been involved in student and professional organizations, such as hEARt Listens and Generation Mental Health focused on providing young people with access to mental health resources. She has continued to serve her community by participating in the Public Health Action Support Team (PHAST), which works on community development projects. Derin continues to develop her passion for mental health and outreach through her position as a graduate student instructor in the School of Public Health Undergraduate Program. After her MPH, she plans to work in community mental health before applying to medical school to serve the mental health needs of underserved communities.
