Thanks to everyone who submitted a program proposal for the 2025 Annual Meeting. We received nearly 250 proposals, and the Program Planning Committee (PPC), enthusiastically chaired by Gina Orlando, MPH, CHES (Columbia University) is busy reviewing them all using the rubric outlined in the September 12 post.
We did an open call for session reviewers this year and received a huge response, with more than 90 members stepping up to assist the program planners with this process. It’s a great way to contribute to the meeting and learn more about the program planning process. One thing that makes the ACHA Annual Meeting so relevant is that the programming is developed by, selected by, and conducted by our members.
We’re pleased to announce that La’ Tesha Hinton, MSPH, CHES (Tulane University), has agreed to chair the 2025 Community Engagement Group, with support from Gina. The group will work in conjunction with the PPC, with the goal of supporting the New Orleans community through initiatives aligned with ACHA’s organizational values.
Other subcommittees of the PPC are also hard at work. ACHA Vice President Andreea Baker, BSN, MSN (Doane University) is leading the pre-conference workshop selection group, who will be reviewing workshop submissions and identifying gaps where additional workshops may be needed. And PPC Chair-Elect Emily Lenz, APRN, FNP-BC (School of the Art Institute of Chicago) is working with section planners-elect on the poster selection group.
It’s not too late to submit a poster proposal! The poster deadline is October 28, 2024. Whether you’re an administrator, clinician, health and well-being professional, mental health provider, or student, your poster can inspire conversations, foster collaboration, and shape the future of college health.
