At ACHA, we know that the work you do every single day directly impacts student persistence, retention, and success. But to position ACHA and our field as national thought leaders, we need to tell your stories.

We are launching a new storytelling initiative to feature our members’ incredible impact on campus and in their communities. By sharing your experiences, you help us advocate for the field, showcase the diverse contributions of the college health workforce, and amplify the undeniable connection between student well-being and academic success.

We want to feature powerful impact stories on the ACHA website and in our quarterly newsletter that prove a vital point: health and well-being professionals directly drive student persistence, retention, and success.

Our goal is to ensure our member stories represent the full breadth of the campus communities you serve, highlighting success stories from every corner of higher education and across all disciplines in college health and well-being.

What Makes a Great Story?

To help our team shape these features, it’s helpful (but not required!) if the story has elements of a simple “bridge” structure:

  • A starting point: A challenge, goal, or opportunity your or your campus wanted to address.
  • An action taken: A strategy, initiative, or resource you used to move things forward.
  • A positive outcome: The impact it had on student success, campus well-being, or your own professional journey.

Bottom line: If you or someone you know is doing work that makes you think, “Other campuses need to hear about this,” we want to know about it—regardless of whether your story perfectly fits a specific template!
