American College Health Association Appoints James Wilkinson as CEO

Experienced non-profit executive to lead college health association

The American College Health Association (ACHA), the leading national non-profit organization representing college student health and wellness, today announced that James Wilkinson, MA, CAE, has been named Chief Executive Officer. Wilkinson’s leadership will commence August 16.

Wilkinson comes to ACHA with nearly two decades of experience leading professional societies. From 2015-2020, he served as Executive Director of the Society for Vascular Ultrasound. Prior to that, he served as Vice President for Strategy and Growth at the National Foreign Trade Council (NFTC) and as Executive Director at Washington International Trade Association (WITA). He holds a master’s in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University and degrees in Education from Frostburg State University and English Literature from the University of Maryland. Currently he serves on the Boards of several local civic and charitable non-profits.

“James’ extensive background in leading professional societies will help ACHA strengthen both new and existing partnerships, develop strategic alliances, and expand our ability to serve our members and their campus communities,” said M. Scott Tims, PhD, CHWP, President of ACHA’s Board of Directors and Assistant Vice President of Campus Health Services at Tulane University. “James possesses the qualifications and expertise to build on our current momentum and create a lasting impact on the nation’s college students and the health and wellness professionals who serve them.”
