The committee is responsible for collaboration with DEIJA consultants to create a multi-year plan addressing diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and accessibility (DEIJA) issues, aligning with ACHA’s strategic plan.

DEIJA is the first of the 4 pillars of the ACHA Strategic Plan. As such, the work of this committee is a priority of the Board of Directors, and its success is paramount to the realization of the plan.

The DEIJA Committee will work with a DEIJA expert consultant contracted by the national office to undertake a top-to-bottom assessment of the organization (Member communications, practices, policies, procedures, training, HR, etc.) to eliminate bias and increase inclusivity; to implement remaining recommendations of the 2021 RMHI report (details below); to develop an annual survey, and annual KPI Progress report; and to lay out a long term plan for ACHA’s DEIJA journey.

The DEIJA Committee may also be asked for feedback on, or to tasked to review, other ACHA programs, policies, or activities to ensure our DEIJA aspirations are incorporated, goals defined, and progress measured.
