The theme for ACHA 2025 is “Broadening Our Scope”

This year, we are excited to highlight the many ways in which we work towards centering well-being in our institutions. The well-being of a community isn’t just dependent on our work as college health professionals—it’s dependent on the whole community.

Collaboration and integration are central to our work as college health professionals. As we move from thinking about the individual to thinking about the people, places, and planet we inhabit, creating a well campus and community engages all types of people. All of our work is vital, but we can’t do it without the support of many disciplines.

We encourage you to submit proposals that celebrate this theme. When drafting a proposal, we ask you to consider:

  • The partnerships, integration, and collaboration your team has done with other areas of health and non-health related departments at your institution.
  • How are you and your partners collaborating in unique ways to improve student well-being?
  • How have your institutional systems integrated to provide better care and resources for students?

We know that we don’t do this work alone, and we want to identify, recognize, and learn from these partnerships and collaborations.

We are broadening our scope.

Meeting Goals

Consistent with ACHA’s mission of advancing the health of college students and the campus community, we, the members of the association, gather at the annual meeting with invited guests to:

  • Identify ways to increase knowledge, update professional skills, and incorporate evidence-based guidelines and standards into college health practice in the following areas:
    • Assessment and planning
    • Health promotion
    • Clinical care
    • Mental health services
    • Leadership development
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and exchange of ideas among college health professionals, students, and leaders in higher education.
  • Discuss programs and environments that enhance health outcomes for college students and campus communities.
  • Describe the effect of diverse cultures and experiences on the health of individuals and communities.
  • Identify ways to integrate college health programs with the missions of the institutions we serve.
  • Discuss ACHA’s role as a national advocate for policies that have a positive impact on the health college students and campus communities.
