1. How did your ACHF scholarship to attend the ACHA Annual Meeting help your academic and professional growth?
Receiving the ACHF scholarship to attend the ACHA Annual Meeting was an incredible opportunity that contributed significantly to my academic and professional growth. As an MBA student in Healthcare Administration, the conference allowed me to learn from leaders in college health and gain practical insights that extended beyond the classroom.
Through educational sessions on health equity, health literacy, patient satisfaction, and student engagement, I gained a deeper understanding of how colleges and universities can better support student well-being. One of the highlights of the conference was presenting a collaborative poster project with the Medical Director of the Student Health Center at Texas State University. This experience strengthened my confidence, enhanced my communication skills, and further fueled my interest in healthcare leadership.
2. What was the most impactful experience you had at the ACHA Annual Meeting?
The most impactful experience for me was learning about the importance of creating inclusive and student-centered healthcare environments. The sessions emphasized the importance of listening to students and ensuring that all students have access to quality healthcare and resources.
I was particularly inspired by discussions on Student Health Advisory Councils and health equity. These sessions reinforced the importance of collaboration and reminded me that meaningful change happens when healthcare professionals actively engage with the communities they serve. Presenting a collaborative poster project and interacting with professionals from across the country was also a memorable and rewarding experience.
3. What would you share to encourage ACHA members who are considering making a gift to the Foundation?
I would encourage ACHA members to support the Foundation because the impact of their generosity extends far beyond financial assistance. As a recipient of the 2026 ACHF Student Travel Award, I experienced firsthand how meaningful these opportunities can be.
Because of this scholarship, I was able to attend the conference, present scholarly work, and connect with professionals who inspired and encouraged me. These experiences have had a lasting impact on my personal and professional development. Supporting the Foundation is an investment in students and future healthcare leaders who will continue to advance the health and well-being of college communities.
In summary, the ACHF scholarship provided me with an opportunity that enriched my academic and professional journey. From attending educational sessions to presenting a collaborative poster project and networking with healthcare professionals, every aspect of the conference contributed to my growth. I am sincerely grateful to the American College Health Foundation and its donors for making this experience possible and for investing in the next generation of healthcare leaders.
