Naoshin Kaiser , a student at the University of Georgia, received the ACHF Student Travel Award to attend the ACHA Annual Meeting in New Orleans. Below, she shared what made the meeting meaningful for her.

 1. How did your 2025 ACHF scholarship to attend the ACHA Annual Meeting in New Orleans help your academic and professional growth?

As a recent graduate of the University of Georgia and an aspiring Physician Assistant, receiving the ACHF scholarship made it possible for me to attend the ACHA Annual Meeting. This was an opportunity I would not have been able to afford otherwise. The scholarship allowed me to immerse myself in the dynamic world of college health, exposing me to innovative practices and a collaborative community that I may not have encountered otherwise. This experience broadened my perspective on how healthcare can be delivered to young adults and gave me valuable insights that will shape my approach as I pursue my PA career.

2. What was the most impactful experience you had at the ACHA Annual Meeting?

The most impactful aspect of the meeting was the range of sessions I attended, including discussions on AI in healthcare, practicing clinical strategies for comprehensive sexual health, and promoting reproductive healthcare access on campus. Each session introduced me to both the latest research and real-world strategies for improving student well-being, and the conversations around mental health ethics and substance use prevention (‘borgs and bongs’) were particularly memorable. These learning experiences helped me connect my academic background with the challenges and innovations currently shaping campus health care. Engaging with passionate professionals and leaders in this field inspired me and reinforced my commitment to promoting accessible, inclusive healthcare.

3.  What would you share to encourage ACHA members who are considering making a gift to the Foundation?

I would tell potential donors that their support truly makes a difference. Scholarships like the one I received open doors for students and early-career professionals who might not otherwise be able to participate in critical educational events. Because of this support, I was able to gain firsthand experience, build a professional network, and find inspiration to pursue my goals in PA school and beyond. Investing in scholarships means investing directly in the future of college health by empowering the next generation of professionals; your gift has a ripple effect that shapes careers, improves campus well-being, and builds a stronger health community.
