Planned Gifts for the Future of College Health and Well-Being

Those who support the American College Health Foundation (ACHF) through estate planning or life income vehicles are invited to join the ACHF Legacy Society.

Members enjoy a close relationship with ACHA and the Foundation and are recognized in various ways throughout the year.

Objectives

  • To highlight the importance of planned gifts in ensuring the ACHF’s continued effectiveness and securing its future
  • To encourage and facilitate planned gifts
  • To honor ACHF planned gift donors during their lifetime

Membership

  • Anyone who has notified the Foundation of their intent to include it as a beneficiary of their estate plan is eligible for membership
  • Membership involves no dues, obligations, or solicitations, but allows the Foundation to thank and recognize donors like you for the plans they have made as a way of encouraging others to follow the example
  • Anyone who confirms their membership in the ACHF Legacy Society by April 30, 2025, will be recognized as a Charter Member

Recognition

  • Members are recognized throughout the year on the ACHF website, in periodic stewardship communications and at major ACHA events including the Annual Meeting in May. They also enjoy the satisfaction derived from making a lasting contribution to the Foundation’s long-term success
  • ACHF Legacy Society Charter members will be formally inducted at the ACHA Annual Meeting in May 2025. Going forward, the Foundation will induct a new ‘class’ of ACHF Legacy Society members of those who announced their commitments over the preceding year
  • Members will receive a distinctive recognition lapel pin and periodic recognition in Foundation publications and the website
  • Members will be honored at Foundation events and receive priority seating at general sessions during the ACHA Annual Meeting

Why We Give

Hear directly from members of the ACHF Legacy Society as they share what inspires them to give.

Investing in Students by Supporting Professionals

As long as large numbers of students attend colleges and universities outside the communities where they grew up, college health professionals will be a vital part of higher education in the USA.

And those college health professionals will continue to rely on the American College Health Association to provide them with the data, educational programs, and advocacy support that they need in order to offer the highest quality care and services to those students.

Contributing to ACHF/ACHA's work over the last 40 years has been one of the most meaningful parts of my career, and I expect that my Legacy Society gift will help others continue to elevate college health in the future.

Giving Back to Shape the Future

Even in retirement, I have found it very rewarding to continue my association with colleagues, meet new colleagues, and stay abreast of what is happening in college health. In essence, it is a way to keep me active, thinking and young.

It makes me feel good when each spring ACHF gets to select award winners through a competitive application process, provide travel awards for students and nurses, and support educational programming at the annual meeting. I can see my financial donations being a small part in making these things happen.

In order to help guarantee that these programs will continue, through the ACHF Legacy Society have made a commitment to name the American College Health Foundation in my Trust. I encourage others to make this kind of commitment to the field of college health.
