Welcome to SCHA

The Southern College Health Association is a voluntary, non-profit, regional affiliate (Region I) of the American College Health Association (ACHA). The purpose of the SCHA is to provide a professional organization which institutions of higher education, their health services, other interested individuals and organizations may join in order to work together to promote health, including preventive and health promotion programs, on behalf of those they serve - the students.

SCHA 2019 Annual Meeting– Registration Is Open!

Join your colleagues at the 2019 Southern College Health Association Annual Conference hosted by the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in collaboration with Duke University and North Carolina Central University.

The 2019 SCHA Annual Conference will be held March 13-15 at the JB Duke Hotel in Durham North Carolina.  The conference theme is Exceptional Care for Exceptional Students:  A Celebration of Clinical Expertise and Best Practice.  In addition to the conference’s traditional inclusion of wellbeing and administratively-focused programming, the meeting will have an emphasis on clinical programs for college health physicians, providers, mental health professionals, nurses, pharmacists and other clinical professionals. Multi-discipline CME approval is in process for this programming.

The event also showcases a 2 day, overnight pre-conference at Camp New Hope, a wooded retreat center within minutes of the Conference host hotel. Led by Dr. Allen O’Barr, a psychiatrist and Director of UNC-Chapel Hill Counseling and Psychological Services, this retreat will propel your body and spirit through the remainder of spring semester.

Cost: $375 (early bird thru 11/30), $425 (regular), +$100 for pre-conference.
