The target audience of the Sunbelt meeting is student health service administrators who are in decision making positions and who are interested in sharing experiences and concerns about college health in an informal setting.

Agenda/Call for Topics
The focus of the meeting is on items of current and future interest in college health.
The hallmark of the Sunbelt Meeting is sharing of concerns and solutions among knowledgeable and experienced peers in college health.
The final agenda is set by consensus of those in attendance.
Participants are asked to identify topics, make presentations, or lead discussions.
If you would like to hear from colleagues on a particular subject, ask them to step forward. If you are willing to lead a discussion concerning an area of interest, please contact Kathy Carstens (contact info below).
Accommodations
The meeting will be held at the Mills House, located in the heart of downtown Charleston at 115 Meeting Street. Rooms have been reserved at a special rate of $269.00 per night. This special rate is guaranteed only until Friday, June 17, 2023. There may be a few rooms available at this rate on a very limited basis before and after the conference.

Be sure to tell the reservationist that you are with the “Sunbelt Health Directors Meeting.” Reservations and payment are the responsibility of individual attendees and must be made prior to Friday, June 17, 2023, to secure the guaranteed negotiated price.
The hotel check-in time is 4 p.m. (or earlier if the room is ready) and check-out time is 11:00 am.

Transportation
Charleston is served by several major airlines. The airport is located in Charleston, a 15 mile/30-minute drive to the hotel. For more airport information, please visit Charleston International Airport.
Parking is limited and expensive in the city. Once your car parked, walking or the use of the free "DASH" shuttle bus will meet virtually all of your downtown transportation needs.
This shuttle stops at various locations in the
historical area of downtown Charleston. There is a parking garage beside the
Mills House (93 Queen Street) with direct access to the hotel from the garage.
Rates are hourly ($1 per half hour) with an $18 per day maximum, but no
“in-and-out” access. The Mills House also offers valet parking ($49 per day
plus tax).

- Is my registration transferrable?
Yes, if you are unable to attend, you are welcome to send someone in your place. Please notify Kathy Carstens at kacarstens@davidson.edu so updates can be made to name tags and registration

- May I extend my stay at the hotel at group rates?
The short answer is “Hopefully, yes!”SCHA has negotiated a special rate for a block of rooms from Monday through Saturday nights, and there may be rooms still available for those wishing to extend their stay, but they could be limited. Book early to try to ensure the discounted rate. If you do not receive the negotiated rate for your extended stay, please contact Kathy at kacarstens@davidson.edu and I will see if I can assist you. Once the block of rooms are sold out, you may be asked to pay a higher rate.
- What is the refund policy?
Once you are registered, you may cancel your registration by contacting Kathy at kacarstens@davidson.edu for a 50% refund by June 30th.
All refunds will be credited back to the credit card charged.
Typically, no refunds will be issued for no shows or cancellations after July 1. You are encouraged to send an alternate in your place.
- When does the meeting begin?
On site check in will be from 3:00-5:00pm on Wednesday, July 19th. The first event is a reception that evening at 6:00pm (details will be available at registration) Meetings begin on Thursday, July 20th with a breakfast at 7:30am. The meeting concludes around 12:00pm on Friday, July 21.
- Are family members allowed at the receptions?
Yes, you are welcome to bring family members to the receptions on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
