ACHA submits feedback on the College Scorecard
04/23/12. The Obama Administration is planning to add a new tool to the College Affordability and Transparency Center that would assist prospective students and their families in comparing colleges before they choose using key measures of college affordability and value. The purpose of the tool is to make it easier for students and their families to identify and choose high-quality, affordable colleges that provide good value. The White House posted a sample screenshot of the proposed College Scorecard, asking the public for feedback. ACHA submitted comments [pdf] on behalf of the membership recommending that the Department of Education offer a uniform definition for computing the Cost of Attendance (COA) that includes the student’s health related costs (administrative health fees and health insurance premiums), such that these costs will be consistently and openly factored into the comparison tool.
