This Hot Topics session features a subject of great importance to health promotion professionals. This presentation will discuss the 5 Ws (who, what, where, when, why) of evidence-based practice. In particular, this session will help participants to understand what evidence-based practice is, why it is essential, and how to create evidence-based programming. A step-by-step process, specific campus examples, and strategies for overcoming potential challenges will be shared.
The participant should be able to:
- Define evidence-based practice.
- Explain why evidence-based programs are essential for health promotion practice and behavior change.
- Describe the steps of creating an evidence-based program.
