Gun Safety Task Force

Craft an ACHA position statement on gun violence that will guide the associations’ future advocacy efforts in this area by the Annual Meeting 2023. Key elements of the statement to include:

o Gun violence as a public health crisis
o The role guns have in regard to suicide – suicide is the leading cause of gun related death
o The potential interaction of guns and alcohol on campus
o The need for more research on gun violence prevention
o Resources available to campuses for research and programming ideas
