The CoVAC Initiative invites college health professionals to share their stories from the last three years of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Storytelling Project will feature these stories on the ACHA website and in a forthcoming publication.

We must tell the story of:

What we saw.

How it felt.

What was challenging.

And how we flourished.

TELL US A STORY ABOUT:

What you love/care about college health.
What changed or challenged you during the pandemic.
How your campus survived or thrived during the pandemic.
What a hopeful future looks like for college health.
OR SOMETHING ELSE YOU WISH TO SHARE.

FAQs

Why Storytelling? Storytelling is a part of the human experience across culture and time. It is also an effective public health strategy with many benefits. For college health professionals, storytelling can:

  • Provide an opportunity to process our experiences
  • Connect us with the “why” or purpose of our work
  • Support our resilience and the stability of our field
  • Build trust with our campus community
  • Allow decision-makers and leaders to understand our work more deeply

Whose stories are you looking for? All college health professionals and those directly involved in student health and wellbeing.

Why does my story matter? College health professionals were called upon to care for their campus communities in many different ways. It's important to amplify these efforts for our own healing, and to contribute to the body of public health knowledge.

What will you do with my story? The stories will be featured on the ACHA website and in a publication shared with campus and governmental decision makers.

Can I share my story anonymously? YES! Share as much or as little information about yourself as is comfortable.

My professional obligations prevent me from sharing information - can I still participate? Yes, being mindful not to share details that could identify or harm others.
