Annual Achievement Awards

Nominations for the Ruby Rich Burgar Award and the Golden Bull Awards are due on or before May 14, 2008.

The Ruby Rich Burgar Award was established in 1977 to recognize individuals with long, continuous, and outstanding service to college health and the Pacific Coast College Health Association. Named for Ruby Rich Burgar, Executive Director of PCCHA from 1977-1988, this award represents the highest recognition given by the Pacific Coast College Health Association. To be eligible for this award individuals must be:

  • peer-nominated
  • either employed at a PCCHA member institution or an individual member of ACHA/PCCHA.

The Golden Gull Award encourages creativity in developing programs to improve college health practices and advance the health of students. The award, established by the PCCHA in 2001, recognizes exemplary, innovative, and inspirational practices and programs within four areas of college health:
  • Clinical Services
  • Consumer Services
  • Counseling Services
  • Health Education and Promotion Services

Programs eligible for the Golden Gull Award may be either self-nominated or peer-nominated. Eligible programs must also be implemented at a PCCHA member institution or have an individual member of ACHA/PCCHA directly involved with the program.
