As a founding member of the Tri-State College Health Consortium, you had the foresight to advocate for student inclusion in federal health care policy. Your vigilance, dedication and leadership as the "watchdog" of state, regional and national policy has resulted in an educated and mobilized group of college health professionals that have had considerable influence on issues. Providing equal measures of guidance and direction, you have led the way in providing quality health care to students.
An excellent clinician, you truly epitomize the professional work and life of Louise Gazzara. You are generous with your time, mentoring students and colleagues, sharing knowledge and experience while never losing sight of the ultimate goal of the health and well-being of our students. This focus remains front and center within your administrative responsibilities as Nurse Director.
As with your consortium work, you are the proverbial "super" glue that holds everything together, forging bonds and creating networks that positively impact the college and wider communities. Your on- and off-campus activities have set high standards for others to follow. As an active member of NECHA, you have encouraged others to become involved in the organization, benefiting us all.
Your expertise, enthusiasm and willingness to get involved have served as a model for others. The New England College Health Association is proud to honor you with this award in recognition of the excellence, professionalism and collegiality that have defined your work in college health.
