Enhancing College and University
Healthcare Providers' Ability to Prevent
Sexual Violence (2005-2008)

The Enhancing College and University Healthcare Providers' Ability to Prevent Sexual Violence Project was a two-year U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Cooperative Agreement (CA #05040). Funding was entirely provided by CDC's Department of Health and Human Services, National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, and Division of Violence Prevention.

Project Period

September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2007 (extended through August 31, 2008)

Project Goals

GOAL A: Conduct surveys to assess ACHA member knowledge about the impact of sexual violence on campus. The data gathered will assist in developing educational materials and trainings. Please see Results from the ACHA 2007 Preventing Sexual Violence Survey [PowerPoint presentation].

GOAL B: Create and disseminate a primer document to educate ACHA members about sexual violence on campus and primary prevention. See ACHA's Position Statement on Preventing Sexual Violence on College and University Campuses [pdf].

GOAL C: Use the assessment data and member feedback to develop an educational toolkit for all ACHA members. The toolkit can be downloaded at Shifting the Paradigm: Primary Prevention of Sexual Violence Toolkit.
